February is Pet Dental Health Month. If you don't regularly brush your dog's teeth, now is the perfect time to start! Begin by getting him used to the taste of canine toothpaste (do NOT use the human variety), then let him lick the toothpaste off of a doggie toothbrush to get him used to the texture. Next begin by only brushing a few teeth at a time, and don't forget to praise your dog and make it fun. It may take a few weeks to get him used to the sensation, but soon your dog will look forward to having his teeth brushed!
