There are two kinds of dog owners: those who don't dress up their dogs and those who adore canine couture. For the latter group, GlamourDog.com has every type of doggie accessory imaginable at very affordable prices. If your dog loves to be seen in the latest fashions, you'll love the selection of sweaters, collars, swimwear, jackets, carriers, and jewelery that GlamourDog.com has available. For the dog with a more low-key wardrobe (or the nudist), GlamourDog.com has toys, dog beds, blankets, and food bowls to fit any style.

ImageGlamourDog.com began in 2001 by Cynthia and Casey Whitcher. The decision to create an e-commerce website for doggie fashionistas was inspired by the unique marriage proposal by Casey. On Cynthia's birthday, Casey gave her a Maltese puppy wearing a nametag that was inscribed "Will you marry me?" Casey, who is a graphic designer, and Cynthia, a fashion designer, decided to combine their talents and love for their puppy, now named Chanel, by creating a store for pampered pups with an exceptional flair for fashion. In 2004, GlamourDog opened a retail store in Frisco where they enjoyed tremendous success for five years. Recently, they decided to move to a larger warehouse in downtown Dallas and GlamourDog officially closed their retail location in June of 2009. Cynthia and Casey decided to go back to their roots as an e-commerce company and focus on GlamourDog.com.

Image The clothing on GlamourDog.com was initially designed for small dogs or puppies, but many of the items come in large sizes too. You can find tutus for the tiniest toy breed and argyle sweaters for a larger dog. Going to a wedding? Find a wedding dress, tux, or a simple tie (for a more casual affair). Does your dog get cold feet? Check out the selection of shoes and socks for some booties to protect your dog's paws, especially in icy weather. If you're looking for items by a specific designer, GlamourDog.com has it covered, from Juicy Couture to Paris Hilton. Of course, there is a wide selection of doggie bling to complete your dog's ensemble.

Image And don't let all the pink ruffles and tiaras fool you. GlamourDog has something for everyone, including us sports fans. In 2006, GlamourDog created a division for sports related pet gear called SportyDog.com. SportyDog has merchandise for all categories of sports, including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA, NASCAR, and soccer. They have numbered jerseys for several professional teams, as well as custom lettering available if you'd like a jersey personalized with your dog's name. For those sports lovers who aren't fans of dressing up their dogs, you can show your dogs sporty side with squeaky and plush toys in basketball, football, tennis, golf, and much more. Sizes for SportyDog.com range from Small to Extra Large.

ImageGlamourDog.com is a proud supporter of Operation Kindness and is one of the sponsors for the upcoming Dog Day Afternoon on Sunday, September 20. Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs.
