While everyone is concerned with Swine Flu, it is highly unlikely that your dog can catch or spread the virus. There are no known dog/cat to human (or vice-versa) influenza transmissions to date. However, with the recent heavy rainfall, its important to keep your dog from drinking out of puddles which could be contaminated with the parasite Giardia, which can cause diarrhea, weight loss, and hair loss in dogs.
