When choosing a groomer, visit the shop before you make an appointment. Take notice of how clean the facility is and how it smells. Do the groomers leave the dogs on the table? This should never happen unless the dog is small, is secured by a strap around the body and a strap around the neck, AND the groomer has the dog in full view. Also, watch how the groomer handle the dogs, which should be firm but not overly rough.
