This week, a DDL reader asks Dr. Manley about a popular dog treat - Greenies.
This week's question:
Dr. Manley,
I have heard that Greenies can be dangerous for pets by getting "stuck" in
the digestive tract. Is there any truth to this?
Thank you!
Molly
Dr. Manley's Reply:
Hi Molly,
There were some reports of obstructions caused by the product a couple of years ago. Greenies have been reformulated to dissolve in the digestive tract. They are safer than they have ever been.
Thanks for the question....Dr. Manley

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs. |
