This week, Dr. Manley addresses a DDL reader's question about flea and tick prevention during the winter.
This week's question:
Dr. Manley,
Hello! I use Frontline Plus as my dog's flea & tick bite prevention. Is it
necessary to apply the treatment during the winter months?
Thank you!
Dr. Manley's Reply:
Hello! That depends on where you live and where your dog spends most of her time. If
you live in a warm climate without long periods of freezing weather (2 weeks
or more of continuous freezing weather), you should use the product all
year. If your pet lives indoors you should use the product all year. Do
not forget that treating your pet will not eliminate a flea problem. Treat
the environment. The largest percentage of the flea population is in your
pet's environment.
Thanks for the question....Dr. Manley
