At some time or another, your dog will get away from you when he is not on his leash. Instead of yelling at him in an angry voice to "Come here!" try getting down on your knees and yelling in a very excited, happy voice. Use a "treat word" that he knows; for example, "Come here, Snookums! You want a treat?" Dogs can tell when you're mad so they won't come to you if you use an angry voice. Do not chase your dog; he'll think it's a game and keep running. Try running away from the dog so he will chase you.
