Welcome to DallasDogLife!
Thank you so much for visiting DallasDogLife.com, the metroplex’s new community portal for dog lovers! I am so excited to launch this site, and look forward to hearing feedback from you. Let me introduce myself and provide a little background about DallasDogLife, and what you can expect from your online experience.
My name is Yvonne and I have three dogs - Chewy, Buster, and Fudge - who are the inspiration behind DallasDogLife. When I unexpectedly adopted Chewy, I had very little knowledge about dogs and what they needed to be happy and healthy. By nature, I am an information fiend so the first thing I did was Google anything and everything I could think of to help me with my new family member. I quickly found out how much I didn’t know, and how much more I needed to know, and wondered why there was not a website that told me, If you live here, take your dog here for shots, and here for baths, and here for training. I was clueless. I did find a ton of information and visited dozens of dog businesses, but my ever-growing binder of doggie info was starting to hurt my back when I lifted it. I decided to be smart and bookmark all the dog businesses in the area that I may want to visit one day, but then was spending all my time organizing folders just so I could find what I needed. Raise your hand if you feel my pain…
So that’s where this idea came from. I wanted to create a site that contains all this information that I had accumulated, in the hope that I could help others like me who needed to find out where they could spend time with their dog here, near our homes. I also want to help local businesses to find their customers, and to help customers more easily find them! The DFW area is becoming increasingly dog-friendly, and there’s so much to experience with your four-legged family.
This site is far from complete, and I welcome any feedback that will help improve DallasDogLife for everyone. Please email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks again for visiting - come back soon!

Yvonne,
This web site is a great idea! I am the new mommy of a rescued 2 year old Papillon (Princess). I adopted her in the end of May and it has been a great learning experience. I did not know i could love a dog so much! I want to take her every where with me. I think this site will be so helpful to me.
Love the new site. I know it will be a big success. Glad to have you on as a guest on the Lucky Dog Show. Visitors can listen to the interview at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/luckydogshow/2009/01/08/Dog-Tracks-Songs-for-Dogs

FINALLY! I recently moved here from the dog friendly city of Portland, Oregon and they had a great dog site that I loved. I have been asking around here for the same thing and no one knew of anything. I finally found you on the internet tonight and I am so excited that I did. Thank you for putting this together. It simply put is the best tool for dog owners!!!
As a dog photographer I am constantly looking for online dog-related businesses/resources… yours is by far the best I’ve found! I love that you list Rescue organizations, too - As the mom of two rescues, I really appreciate the businesses that support rescue.
Thanks!

Great idea for a website!
I’ve just found your site and started browsing around–it looks like you have lots of good info and resources here.
We call it the “world wide web,” but I think one of the most useful features of the web is local websites like this, that help you find things that you didn’t even know existed in your own backyard! I never realized there were so many dog friendly restaurants in Dallas.
I have a question for you–but I’ll send you a longer e-mail privately.
cheers,
Mary Hunter

I am so glad that you have developed this info site. I just do not see many folks with dogs in stores or restaurants. I am so amazed at the long list that you have. I want to be able to take my dog with me and I guess I just need to ask owners if I can bring my dog. SOmetimes I see a sign that allows only assistance dogs. I don’t think many owners know how much they could do with their dogs.
Did you know about Dog Scouts of America? There is a large DFW troop here?
Please add me to your email list.
Hi Norine! I’ll add you to the list right now. You should get your first newsletter on Friday! -Yvonne
