Hello from DallasDogLife!
One thing is certain, DallasDogLife readers are some wonderful people. In the past week, we've seen several requests for help in spreading the word about animals in need. Instead of my usual quips about the weather (which is supposed to be GORGEOUS over the next few days), here are a few requests:
These two dogs (Rick & Duke) were pulled in quite the dramatic fashion from the Rowlett Animal Shelter this week and now need a permanent home. If you would like to adopt these babies or know someone who may be interested, please email Loretta at luchini21@msn.com.
The Collin County Animal Shelter is in "a world of hurt," reports a DDL Facebook Fan. The McKinney SPCA had an outbreak of distemper and cannot pull any dogs from the shelter for three weeks, which means all the strays are being put down after their 6-day waiting period. And the owner surrenders are not even getting a waiting period! Apparently they have a lot of puppies - please spread the word and see if we can save some lives!
Another DDL Facebook Fan is looking for a permanent home for her foster dog Crusher (so named because everyone who meets him develops a crush on him). He is a well-trained 2-year-old Beagle mix who somehow ended up on a DFW shelter's EU list. Reading his profile, I can't imagine why anyone would give him up. Can you give him a home?
Featured Review: Bryant Dog Photography
If you've visited some of the Dallas dog landmarks - such as The Pooch Patio, The Lucky Dog Barkery, Unleashed Indoor Dog Park, or Every Dog's Day - you've probably seen Margaret Bryant's amazing work. An engineer-turned-photographer, Margaret describes her artistic style as 'simple': she captures the personality of the dogs and the relationship they have with their humans. Sounds easy, but judging by her client feedback, Margaret and Photo Assistant & Dog Wrangler Teri Walker are nothing short of miracle workers. Read more here.
