SPCA of Texas Pet Fest - McKinney Print

Bring your best friend, get ready for a beautiful Fall day full of family fun and join the SPCA of Texas at the Perry Campus at 8411 Stacy Road/FM 720, McKinney, TX 75070 for its fifth annual Pet Fest on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from noon to 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Pet Fest will have something fun for everyone, Fido and family alike! Fabulous entertainment for people and pets, informative vendor booths, arts and crafts, a bounce house, a raffle and delicious food as well as music provided by Mix 102.9 will highlight the day’s events. Fall activities will abound, including a pumpkin patch family photo opportunity and trick or treating for the kiddos.

A bounce house, childrens’ costume contest and pet contests such as best trick, best costume and best dog/owner look alike as well as Pet University and K9 unit demonstrations will provide additional entertainment and excitement for the whole family. Pet activities include paw painting, a puppy pool play area and even canine massages! Dogs must be on leashes and be current on vaccinations.

The pet contests will be $5 per contest or $10 for all three. Popcorn and various other snacks will also be available. Pet Fest will be held rain or shine.

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs.
