Mutt-itation and More (meditation with your dog) Print
Thursday, February 04 2010, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm by sswdemo Hits : 709

Have you ever seen your dog laying on the floor, eyes half closed, breathing, slowly, just BEING? Our dogs are natural meditators and have a lot to teach us.

Why meditate with your dog?

1. It promotes general health, happiness, relaxation, and balance in both you and your dog.
2. It is a wonderful bonding experience for the both of you.
3. It is a terrific way to feel the love between you.
4. It gives you the experience of being in the moment.

In the Mutt-itation class we will learn what it means to meditate with our dogs, what the difference is between Mutt-itation and other meditations. We will also talk and I'm sure experience what it's like when your dog is not being cooperative during Mutt-itation. Then we will talk about how to bring Mutt-itation into your home practice. Along with the Mutt-itation we will be doing some gentle stretching for ourselves and doggie massage.

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs.
