The City of Longview Parks and Recreation Department announces the Dog Days of Summer. After the pools close for the summer, Parks & Recreation Aquatics will host the Dog Days of Summer (Dog Swim) from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Longview Swim Center, located at 1111 W. Fairmont. The cost will be $3 per dog and owners will enter free of charge. A free tennis ball will be given to the first 50 entrants. Dogs must show proof of current rabies vaccinations to enter the pool. Any dog showing aggression or a female in season will not be allowed in the pool. Owners may wade in the pool but will be asked not to swim and to ensure their dog(s) is on a leash when not in the water. There will be door prizes and refreshments for your pooch.
