The City of Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department will again host Doggie Splash day at Vanston Pool at 2913 Oates Drive on Saturday, August 22 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Dogs are free, owners $5. All other humans will be charged $1. Activities include all aspects of the pool amenities including the wading pool, slide, and one-meter diving platform. All dogs will be required to have current vaccinations to enter the pool. Mesquite Health Department officials will assist with dog registration information and will assist with any aggressive participants. Click here for the flyer with the contest start times.

Dogs can get sunburned too, so be sure to apply sunscreen when your dog will be out in the sun for extended periods of time. Apply sunscreen to the tips of his ears, bridge of his nose, groin area, inside of the legs and the underbelly. Be sure to use a sunscreen that does NOT contain PABA or Zinc Ozide (which is harmful to dogs if ingested) or a brand made specifically for dogs. |
